Tasha Mears, Healthcare Delivery Specialist
Tasha Mears has over twenty years in health care experience with a focus in information technology and revenue cycle management. Ms. Mears most recently worked at Amedisys, a premier home health and hospice company, from 1998 as a Clinical Director to 2015 as the Senior Vice President of Clinical Informatics and was instrumental in the design and implementation of their point of care technology. Ms. Mears has served as the Chair of the Quality Working Group for the Alliance for Home Health Quality and Innovation. In 2009, she was appointed by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) as a member of the Technical Expert Panel Project: Care Transition Measure Development; a prestigious panel formed to develop measures used to deliver quality care to Medicare beneficiaries. Ms. Mears is currently the Chief Administrative officer of MedCentris, a wound medicine physician practice. She is a Registered Nurse and graduate student of Health Informatics at Louisiana Tech University.
Dale Pfost, Biotech Strategy Advisor
Dale is the U.S.-based General Partner of London-based Advent Life Sciences, one of the leading venture capital funds in Europe. He has been the CEO of five successful biotech companies, three of which became publicly-traded with valuations over $1 billion. He was the founding CEO of Acuity Pharmaceuticals which merged to form OPKO Health. He was the founding CEO of both Oxford GlycoSciences and Orchid BioSciences, which went public in 1998 and 2000. His first company was acquired by SmithKline Beckman. Dale has raised nearly $300 million in twenty financings and has led the M&A of nine companies. He has also served on multiple boards of directors of public and private companies. He has a PhD in Physics from Brown University and a BS from the University of California Santa Barbara.
Kevin Pollard, Marketing and Management Expert
Kevin received his B.A. from DePaul University and his MBA from Duke University. He began his business career with Procter & Gamble Co. in sales before transitioning to Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., where he spent 14 years in sales, sales management, marketing and general management roles. He joined FREEPORT-McMoRan in January 1989, heading its Corporate Development Department; among his responsibilities, he relocated to Indonesia as Executive Vice-President and Board Director. He later formed three successive entrepreneurial ventures, a telecommunications company, an internet data storage service provider, and a software company; currently, his energy is focused on global, sustainable renewable energy technologies. Kevin has been active in the business community for over 30 years, serving on over 30 for-profit and not-for-profit boards as a director and/or advisor. Kevin founded GlobalSolve Management Services, an international business development consultancy, in January 2003.
